Kanye West introduce a limited edition collection of 5 silk scarves

last fall, kanye west asked m/m (paris) to design the album packaging for 'my beautiful dark twisted fantasy'. west had commissioned george condo to create a series of paintings featuring the characters who populate his musical fantasies. during the creative process, m/m (paris) created a series of hand drawn ornamented frames to adorn the powerful and iconic condo paintings.

m/m (paris) and kanye west wanted to find a luxurious expression of their creative efforts —and decided to transform them into voluptuous silk scarves. resulted five full color scarves made of 100% silk twill, each featuring one of the album covers painted by george condo and embedded in an intricate gold frame with hand drawn lettering by m/m (paris). each scarf is produced in a strictly limited edition of 100 units.

the combination of this luxurious visual language over the traditional 'twill de soie' is the ultimate celebration of the magically ornamented sounds of 'my beautiful dark twisted fantasy'.

Kanye West’s NY Fashion Week debut!

We’ve all known for years that Kanye West has more than a passing interest in fashion. He’s been a front row fixture for seasons and seasons now, and isn’t afraid to wear his favourite designers – whether they make menswear or not (remember his Celine moment at Coachella earlier this year?). So it should come as no real surprise that Kanye has finally moved into the realm of fashion design.
We hear rumours, from excellent sources, that the hip hopper has been squirreling away on his New York Fashion Week debut womenswear collection for months now, and has employed some key Brits to help him achieve critical success. With studios in both East London and New York, Kanye has apparently hired knit-wear supremo, Louise Goldin, to oversee design, St Martins MA legend, Louise Wilson, has been giving him one-to-one tuition – which explains his previous declarations that he wanted to study at the prestigious art school - and assumptions are that he has hired a very established stylist to work as a consultant. Plus, judging by his phenomenal music success, Kanye won’t leave anything to chance, so we imagine that there is already a full line-up ready to go. Now, that’s just what other NY designers who are still toiling their first looks need to hear! Mr West, finally, welcome to the industry.
